it really depends more on your leg strength and some aerodynamics.

The Yamaha R1 is around 6MPH faster, but it depends on the rider.
The R1 is the one I’d have because it’s one of my dream bikes.

It would have to be the R1 here in the USA.Besides where would you have it serviced if you had an Aprilla.

The R1 likely will be the more reliable one of the two, service and parts will be easier to get and will be less costly. For road use any motorcycle is fast enough. Most motorcycles can reach speeds that are far beyond legal as well as safe for the road. The same goes for acceleration. I don’t know the specs of those two bikes, especially the Aprilia, but both will be fast enough for you (and probably too fast considering how hung-up you appear to be on speed).
